2011 Winner- Bob Steketee

SketeteeBob Steketee, Haslett, Michigan, won the Bert Rollins Memorial Trophy and set a new record with a score of 1243-48X at the 2010 National Long Range Rifle Championships, Camp Perry, Ohio, August 2011.

Bob is retired from G.M. as a test driver.  He lives in Michigan.  Shooting competitively in both Service Rifle and Long Range Bolt Rifle.  He has traveled with the U.S. Shooting Team to South Africa and England.  He is a High Master in all High Power disciplines along with going Distinguished with the Service Rifle in 1993.  In 2007 he won the Edward D Andrus Memorial Trophy.  In 2010 he made the Presidents 100 and a Gold Badge in the EIC match.  At Camp Perry 2011 he won the John Garand M1 match, was High Senior in the Springfield M1A match and won the Bert Rollins Trophy in the Long Range Aggregate.  He also was High Senior in the Southwest Berger National in January 2011 and won a Gold Medal in the Michigan Long Range Regional 2011.  Bob’s Long Range rifle is a Gamboa built and stocked RPA Quadlock with a Bartlien barrel.

Kevin Nevius  2010 Bert Rollins Memorial Trophy WinnerThe new Bert Rollins Memorial Trophy was awarded to Kevin Nevius, Gibsonburg, Ohio for his Grand Aggregate score of 1236-52X in the Long Range High Power Rifle Matches “using a Palma Rifle” throughout all of the matches 14-18 August, 2010, Camp Perry, Ohio.

Biography
Bert Rollins was born in Washington, D.C., but spent most of his life in Fairfax, Virginia. He served in the U. S. Army as a Military Police Specialist 4 and was an Assistant Rifle Marksmanship Instructor at the U. S. Military Academy, West Point. A life member of the National Rifle Association and a former member of the NRA’s National Coach Development Staff, Bert was a Distinguished Rifleman and won numerous awards at the USA National Rifle Championships both as an individual and a team shooter. Bert was a member of the USA Palma Rifle Team in 1992, 1995 and 1999, and was a member of the Virginia Firearms Education & Marksmanship Association, Inc., both as a marksman and a coach. One of his greatest enjoyments in life was mentoring individuals in marksmanship and coaching them to achieve success both personally and as marksmen. Bert died on May 19, 2006, after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Linda, and his children, Lesley Kelso, Matthew Rollins, Jennifer Isenberg, Mary Rollins; and four grandchildre

About the Trophy
The BERT ROLLINS MEMORIAL TROPHY is constructed of Black Walnut replicating the shape of the Distinguished Rifleman Badge mounted on a Black Walnut base. A laser image of Bert Rollins on Black Marble is centered on the badge. The trophy is 27” Tall X 24” Wide. The base accommodates 14 years or more of name plates, year and score of winners. A robust padded shipping case is included which uses an anchor bolt and lock down cross piece.
